My Lacey Girl

Here is a picture of my girl with my boy sitting on here after a very relaxing trail ride by the river. We seen deer, geese flying down the river, it was so beautiful, and peaceful. We rode for an hour and half but it felt like longer just being out there on my horse it is the best feeling ever, I can't wait until I find a pony for my little boy. You see he has several health issues but he loves the horses he does have a pony of his own but he is young and not trained yet so we are looking for something "dead broke" so if anyone knows of anything please let me know. I hope everyone out there gets to get out and enjoy these next few nice days because it sounds like we are going to be getting some rain.

  1. Just wanted to say hello! I saw your post on the Ames Craigslist and thought it's great that you're trying to get a trailriding group together. I wish I could join in, but alas, I am horseless.

  2. I am sorry to hear that you are horseless I know the feeling I was horseless for a few years and bought my girl 3 years ago. Are you wanting a horse or do you know how to ride a friend has a couple she might let someone ride and she has a 2 year old for sale cheap.

  3. I'm a fair rider, I was taking refresher lessons last year but this winter I broke my wrist, wracking up medical bills (I'm sure you know how that goes. :P ) so no more lessons for me until I have paid off my bills. It was getting to the point where the lessons weren't doing much for me anyway, the horses they had were pretty limited in what they could do.

One day I plan on buying a horse, but not until I have my various loans cleared out, there's no way I'd want to be in debt while owning a horse, because of course it would do something foolish and need an emergency vet visit. ;)

I would love it if someone had a spare horse that they wouldn't mind me riding, especially if everyone was going on a trail ride. I realize though that I'm a stranger, and wouldn't want to just hop on someone's horse without them checking me out first (and my riding abilities, I've met FAR too many people who say they can ride, and they meant they could ride with enough skill to handle a carousel horse! ;D )

If you want to talk some more, shoot me an email at (screen name I'm using)@gmail.com If nothing else, I'd love to just be around horses again even if I'm not riding. I live in Ames and have my own car, so I can drive around a bit.

  4. I will talk to my friend and see what she has to say, we were planning on breaking the 2 year old if she don't get him sold, so maybe even him. I know all about medical bills I ahve a son with multiple heath issues. I am sure we can figure something out for you. Maybe one of the times we are at Brushy we could meet up and get to know everyone.

  5. Yes, I saw a bit about your son, it's really rough dealing with something like that. No one in my family has what your son does, but I have a niece with SMA, and my cousin's kid had cystic fibrosis. Seems like it's never ending.

It would be great meeting everyone, especially if this rain ever lets up! :)
