Camping date

Well I have been keeping an eye on the weather and will continue too, I was planning on doing a weekend camp the 30-31 if anyone is interested. Please leave a comment so everyone else knows and can see how many people want to get together. Unfortunately not sure if I will be able to have my horse there because at this moment I don't have a trailer, but I will be camping at least. I am still working on that but at least we could all meet and get to know one another. So please let me know asap if you can join us.

Trails at Brushy

I just checked the website and only the trail around the lake is open, all others are closed and from the looks of it most of the equine trails in Iowa are closed due to wet conditions. I am keeping an eye on next weekend to see how it is shaping up so I will keep everyone posted on what is going on. I just had shoes put on my horse so it better not keep raining. LOL..

To anyone who would like to meet up please leave your name here so everyone else out there can see how many people are actually interested in getting together. So far I have had 4 people contact me through my e-mail. So that means if everyone would show up there would be 7 so far which isn't too bad. My Lacey Girl

Here is a picture of my girl with my boy sitting on here after a very relaxing trail ride by the river. We seen deer, geese flying down the river, it was so beautiful, and peaceful. We rode for an hour and half but it felt like longer just being out there on my horse it is the best feeling ever, I can't wait until I find a pony for my little boy. You see he has several health issues but he loves the horses he does have a pony of his own but he is young and not trained yet so we are looking for something "dead broke" so if anyone knows of anything please let me know. I hope everyone out there gets to get out and enjoy these next few nice days because it sounds like we are going to be getting some rain.

Rain rain go away!

Well it isn't looking to promising for this weekend or probably even next. I was just looking at weather.com and there is rain chances from Saturday until next Thursday. :( So I guess we are going to have to play it by ear and see what happens with the weather for now. I don't know if anyone is interested but we have trails here in Fort Dodge that we ride during the day and if anyone would like to get together this week for some riding we might be able to do that. I realize it isn't easy for everyone to do weekday riding so just thought that I would put that out there. We have some nice trails that go along the river, and other trails that take you up hills, down hills, you can go for hours.

Camping kick off

Camping kick off is May 1st. I have had a couple of people e-mail me about getting together so we will have to see how this all works out. I will keep everyone updated on whether the trails are open or closed here on my blog so keep checking here for info. As of right now all trails are open. Just wanted to let everyone know where we stand so far. Thanks for reading and if you e-mailed me I will stay in touch. If we do get together next weekend maybe we can have a potluck on saturday, just so we could sit down and get to know each other. I can't wait to meet some people who have the same interests as me. Looking for trailriding buddies

I am looking to meet some new horse friends that can get together and do some trail riding, camping, and potlucks. I am a horse gal but my better half isn't so I am looking for a way to meet some new friends to get together with and just have some fun. I live close to Brushy Creek and it is a wonderful place to go riding, or we can go to other places too. I have been riding horses for 20 years now, I own a TB/Appaloosa cross, and my son has a pony. I would love to get people together just so we can meet people with same interests and maybe some new friends. I know at Brushy they have day riding and 2 camp grounds that are for horses. Tons of trails, some flat some hilly, water crossings and beautiful scenery. So if you would like to meet other trailriding buddies please feel free to leave a post on my blog and we can see what happens and maybe we can get together soon. Like I said we can do day rides or we can do the camping thing or both if some want to camp they can and if some can't they don't have too, but we can have a day of riding followed by a potluck, a camp fire and new found friends.
